Interfacing ANAN-100D: Port Configuration

Here's an example of a working configuration to assist new owners. The ANAN-100D is controlled by N1MM Logger software and interfaced to a Flex Tuning Knob via DDUtil.

  1. Go into Windows Device Manager - Ports and make note of all used COM ports
  2. In Windows Device Manager - Ports make note of the FlexControl USB Control Knob port number
  3. Create virtual port pair #1 using VSPE or other virtual COM port software using two unused COM port numbers
  4. Create virtual port pair #2 using VSPE or other virtual COM port software using two additional unused COM port numbers
  5. Configure computer so the Virtual Port software automatically runs at startup
  6. Go into PowerSDR - Setup - CAT Control and Enable CAT for one of the two ports in Pair #1 (4800 N 8 1) and choose ID as PowerSDR
  7. Go into N1MM Logger, Config - Ports and select one of the two ports in Pair #2 with Radio = "Flex" (4800 N 8 1)
  8. Go into DDUtil - Setup - Features and check "Legacy" and choose the unused port in Pair #1
  9. In DDUtil - Setup - Ports and in the RCP1 dropdown, choose the unused port in Pair #2
  10. In DDUtil - Setup - TKnob, click Enable and choose the port that you found in Device Manager for the Control Knob

The correct order to start things is virtual port software, PowerSDR, and finally N1MM Logger and/or DDUtil
